How to Qualify

Mike Talk Wireless is a federal Lifeline Assistance program offered through Assurance Wireless. Lifeline is a government assistance program. Enrollment is available to individuals who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria. The Mike Talk Wireless through Assurance Wireless offer provides eligible low-income households with free monthly data, unlimited texting, and free monthly minutes.

Enrollment is available to individuals who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria. You may qualify if you or a member of your household participate in one of these assistance programs:

• Medicaid/Medi-Cal

• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP)/CalFresh

• Supplemental Security Income

• Federal Public Housing Assistance

• Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

• Tribally-Administered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

• Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations

• Tribal Head Start

• Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit

You can also qualify based on household income. If you are unemployed, you can use your Unemployment Benefit Letter as proof of eligibility until 09/30/25.

The Lifeline Assistance program is available for only one wireless or wireline account per household.

Separate households that live at the same address may be eligible, including residents of homeless shelters and nursing homes. Residents with temporary addresses may also be eligible.

What is the difference between the free Lifeline plans?

The plans are based on state availability and eligibility. Depending on your location, your plan benefits may vary.

• All states' (excluding CA, NE, UT, WI, TX) Lifeline plans include unlimited text, 3,000 minutes and 4.5GB of data.

• California LifeLine plan includes unlimited text, unlimited minutes and 6GB of data.

• Nebraska Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,400 minutes and 4.5GB of data.

• Utah Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,400 minutes and 4.5GB of data.

• Wisconsin Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,150 minutes and 4.5GB of data.

• Texas Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, unlimited minutes and 4.5GB of data.

I’m a new Mike Talk Wireless customer. How can I purchase the low-cost Data Peace of Mind plan?

Our low-cost plan is only available to new customers through our street teams and to existing Mike Talk Wireless customers through Customer Care. We recommend signing up and qualifying for Lifeline first. Once approved, you are able to call Customer Care and purchase the Data Peace of Mind plan.
