Lifeline Service Overview
Recognizing the important benefits associated with phone access and concerned that low-income households may not be able to afford phone service on their own, the federal government created the Lifeline Assistance program in 1985. Consumers who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria can obtain discounted or free phone service through the Lifeline Assistance program.

If my phone is locked, how do I unlock it?
If your phone is locked (which is sometimes referred to as network or SIM locked), you'll have to contact the original carrier to have it unlocked. You may have to pay any balances due on your phone or on your account before it can be unlocked by your carrier. It may take a few days to unlock the device.
Most phone numbers can be transferred to Mike Talk through Assurance Wireless. If you are working with one of our street representatives, they will assist you. If you are an existing customer, once your Mike Talk Wireless SIM Card is installed, call us at 1-888-321-5880 to complete the transfer process. In both cases, to get started, you'll need the following information:
Previous wireless company name
Previous wireless account number
Previous account PIN
Existing phone number
We recommend backing up your contacts, voicemail and text messages before transferring your number. During the process, you may have dual service for up to 24 hours, meaning your device will be active on both carrier networks. Please do not cancel your previous wireless service until you receive a confirmation text message from Mike Talk Wireless saying that the number transfer is complete.
What's a SIM Card?
SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module. The SIM Card is a tiny plastic card with an integrated chip. When you insert it into your device, the SIM Card identifies the device to the network. You'll need an Mike Talk Wireless SIM Card to connect to the Assurance network.
How do I find my phone's IMEI?
There are a few ways to find your phone's 15-digit IMEI:
Dial *#06# on your phone
Check your phone's "Settings" menu
Check for a label under your battery
